    i got the same error. I don't have the CD with me where i'm updating but this method worked when i needed to patch automatically through the WC3 DLER in game. But since in this method we need to changed the file, we need the cd, which doesn't allow us to update automatically.

    It worked for me the second time cuz you need to install the prepatch first and then install the no-cd

    To uninstall the no-cd all you have to do is delete the exe. Rename the original warcraft 3 exe (you should have backed it up by renaming it to war3.exe.original).

    Else, download a mpq edititor, inside war3.mpq is also a war3.exe if you copy that b ack to the base warcraft 3 directory, you should be fine...

    If you want to get the game to work as if there is a CD, but without the CD, just create an image of the CD using CloneCD/BlindWrite or another similar program, then mount the image using Deamon Tools. The neat thing is you can play TFT with the ROC CD (and vice versa?).

    Hi, i just did it work, try to use the 1.20a archive ( war3.exe) and it wont say thats our version 1.20c is uptodate anymore and will let us install it.
    Ps: this way you dont need to rename the "old 1.20c non-cracked exe" just download the other one and run the patch then the no-cd thing.

    there is another method to get it work:

    open C:/Programs Files/WarcraftIII (or whereever you installed it) and search for old version hack. renmae it how do you like, but remember it.
    run warcraft, then press b.net and begin the dl.
    now get back to you program folder, change the name of the .120 file with war3.exe and the war.exe in something that you can remember about :P
    when th dl is finished, let it patch.
    at the end, change the war3.exe again into .120 and return the crach .exe to it's original name (war3.exe)

    uh...quick question. this doesn't seem to work for reign of chaos, just frozen throne (obviously). i need it for reign of chaos...do you have that somewhere, or does someone know where i could get it? i've been searching for like 35 minutes now. :( bleh.

    Here's the best way, told to me by a pro - use this CD image, it's under 100 KBs, so it won't take so much space as an image of the whole CD, and you can play both ROC and TFT, and use the WorldEditor, no crack needed, just mount the image with Daemon Tools:

    You won't be able to open the virtual drive, that is normal.

    Yes, you can play on Battle.Net as long as you have valid ROC+TFT CD keys... ;)

    The system cannot find the file specified.

    It is in spanish, but just exract the files to your WC3 directory and overwrite the existing files, or if you aren't dumber than dirt, you can back up your files just in case :P

    for all WC3 players: the old 1.20c crack would work fine on this version. Just rename it and then place the original 1.20c exe file(included in the 1.20c nocd carck by the name of war.120c) and rename it to war.exe, now install the 1.20c to 1.20d patch and apply the old crack.

    and for those who have CD key problem: The is no way u can connect to b.net unless u have a valid cd key it means u must buy the original cds.

    You’ll still need a valid serial number, though, which means you’ve already bought the game. This is just a convenience for us lazy gamers who want to dota without sticking in the Frozen Throne cd every time.

    Hey people W3 fans ... I have a problem with patch 1.20d and Battlenet I have the Battle Net Program for thegame version 1.18a and it worked only with 1.20b but recently Bnet was down and now it won't connect saying that I must have the latest version and I installed 1.20d and cracked it and still it doesn't work ...
    1) Please private me and tell me a valid address to download the Battle Net program for any versions ...
    2) If you know something about Diablo 2 LOD and palying on BNET please tell me how cos' I have a shit load of cracks and programs and none of them work :((:(( ...

    hey everyone whats up!! alright heres my problem when everyone is talking about change the old 120c to war.exe back to 120c lol wtf are people talking about. Im stuck on 120c cuz when i try to upgrade to 120d it says that the patch could not be applyed cuz of checksum doesnt match ....wtf does this mean? so could someone in full detail explain how i get 120c to 120d and im pretty sure many people have the same question!!! and yes im fuckin retarded...cuz i cant get past patch 120c its driving me insane lol seriously thought someone help me plz

    ehhh help. ;____; i have major issues with WC3.. i have a burned version and i'm able to play it with some sort of patch but it's just version 1.07.. yeah really old.. anyways, i d/led all the english patches from the blizzard technical support thingermcbobber, and after trying to install the 1.20d thnig it said that it isn't needed cuz my warcraft is already a newer version than that.. i don't get it.. and after that i couldn't play anymore cuz it said that i need to put in my CD and i never really put in the CD to play before and when i put in the CD it still asks for it.. help please. x__X

    thanks for this it helped, but now the new patch is out...1.20e.

    And im going to be doing the same thing with it as i did before. BUT the only problem is i dont have the NON CRACKED version of 1.20d.

    Pasaylo... you have to remove all your no cd crack on your folder located in program files > warcraft III > war3.exe > copy n paste all of your back up files back onto your warcraft III fodler > Put the war3 frozen throne cd in > let it update and it will install > you are finish

    Actually, Sekarzar, if you've got anything from the original purchase of the game, you can send it back in to Blizz for the CD (at a low cost). Manual, maybe? Look in to that.

    On the subject, I've found that the patch isn't working out for me. Found the nocd (it's posted higher up in the list) but it's still not allowing me to connect to bnet. Some 'validate game version' crap. Anyone who's got some info (or just more patience than me) please drop a post here if you've got some solutions. Aside from reinstalling the game, that is. See, I don't have the RoC CD anymore, so a complete reinstall is out of the question. Thanks

    The 1.20e no cd crack that was posted worked for me as far as running the game. But I was UNABLE TO ACCESS BATTLENET. Said "unable to validate game version." My keys are all original. I reinstalled several times, put in all 3 patches from 1.20c to 1.20d to 1.20e. All patch installating were successful. After loading the crack, the game started without the CD all right but... you know. Wish someone could have an answer for me. i haven't been able to play DOTA since 1.20e came out! :-(

    FREE working cd key method for WC3 and WC3 FT if you need it!!!


    This is a technique to create an unused Warcraft III CD key. The technique will work for both the Frozen Throne and Reign of Chaos. This technique would be good if you had two computers, and you wanted to play on Battle.net at the same time. The CD key you create will be free and unused.

    NOTE: Make sure the CD Key you use is from the actual Warcraft III CD case. This technique will not work if you use a fake CD key. Don’t e-mail me saying it didn’t work if you didn’t use an authentic CD key.

    Instructions

    1. Find an authentic Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos or the Frozen Throne CD key. It should look something like this: XXXXXX – XXXX – XXXXXX – XXXX – XXXXXX. 2. With the first set, add one to each number, but if it becomes a 10, make it a zero. 3. On the second set, subtract one from each number. 4. On the third set, leave it alone. 5. On the fourth set, flip it backwards. If it was 1A2B, it would become B2A1. 6. On the fifth set, leave it alone. 7. Now, use your CD key, or give it to one of your friends. If the CD key doesn’t work, e-mail the CD key you created to accountopruiming@yahoo.com. Make sure you do not send your original. You should never give anyone your original CD key. I will try to make your CD key work and e-mail you back the results.

    okay guys lets make this simple.
    first, download pigon from the link below,
    66.199.232.155/pcgamefixes/WARCRAFT.3.THE.FROZEN.THRONE.V1.18A.ENG.PIGON.BNLOADER.ZIP
    after u hav downloaded this file unzip it in ur Warcraft III folder. MAKE SURE UR WARCRAFT III FOLDER IS INSIDE YOUR PROGRAM FILES.
    next drag the files out of the folder created when unzipped.
    NOTE:
    YOU DO NOT NEED A NO CD HACK FOR 1.21

    to play simply click on PIGON_LOADER.EXE.
    it will automatically patch your version to 1.21 too.
    enjoy =)

    my game says 1.21 and it seems the game runs fine... I have not really played much but everything was running fine. However, Battlenet comes up with "unable to verify game version. Please try to reconnect to battle.net, or apply the current patch manually.

    Yeah there's something strange happening amongst us. For whatever reason, a lot of people have been unable to successfully patch due to one or several missing/corrupt files. I got the game to work once on B.Net and had it patch-updated and cd-cracked. After I closed it, the errors began.

    I have tried to reinstall the games and follow cracking instructions very closely but still got the message that the prepatch failed. I have valid keys but downloaded the game via Bittorrent. I do not think this is a problem, however, since I've already gotten it to work once.

    I do not really know much about patching issues but it seems to be the core component of a lot of people's problems. If someone could identify why these files are becoming unreadable, that would be great. Also, the lastest game patch version as of now is 1.21a, correct? Thanks a lot and Cheers.
