  I agre, islam is a religion of terrorists, they do nothing but kill people in the name of religion. There holy texts incite hatred against other religions. The Qu'ran teaches muslims to call other non muslims "kafirs" i.e impure. They force people into conversion my trying to find flaws and twist things about their own religion.   I cna tell you that there's a verse that tells muslims to discuss religion issues with non-muslims in a lenient and wise way...
  Why don't you just get a real transalation of the Quraan and read it...

  I don't fear that Hindus, Jews, Christians, Buddhists will try to attack my people and my country. Muslims will and will continue to do so. We have to open our eyes in this country and realize that not everyone wants to co-exist peacefully. We have to deport these people...those that choose religion over this country. Are our eyes open now? I certainly hope so...

  I am sorry but this man is biased and wrong. Every Muslim I know is a good decent hard working member of the society in which he lives. Doctors, lawyers, professors, window washers, car mechanics, shop owners, engineers, artists, butchers, students, etc. NOT one of them supports fanaticism and wishes to simply live in peace with his neighbours. It is a pity that fanaticism exists, but look beyond to the source of hatred. Look to the wars and the creation of homelessness and poverty then the easy pickings amongst those who have lost everything to "globalization" (read greed from the West as a prime motivation factor). Take responsibility for this world we live in and do not just target one group. Take action, PRO action, to heal, not continue creating the rift between peoples. This man who pickets would be jailed if he picketed against the Jewish people, or against gays, natives, visible minorities or coloureds. It seems Muslims are considered fair game! Realize that hatred is the goal of the fanatics and do not fall into this trap. When I was in India recently, mosque, temple and church were everywhere and all respected each other. It is the act of fundamentalists to create divisions and tear apart societies as they are attempting to do now. DO NOT FALL FOR THIS TRAP OR YOU ARE A FOOL. LOOK BEYOND THE AGENDAS. People are people. There, nuff said. Now go turn on CNN or FOX and listen with open ears to what is NOT being said. This man should be given something constructive to do with his life by the way.

  It is so simple. As European and American Youth we can not stand anymore our governments and even our Pope, trying to excuse for Islam and tolerating their over radical terorrism.
  
  Since I was a child all my Muslim friends, have criticized our beliefs, they have made fun of Holy Trinity, Virgin Mary and so on. This is the Islamic Stategy. And if you answer them they get furious. Because all in all, they do not know a bit about their glorious(!) Quran!
  
  And they keep on insisting the Islam to be the latest and most modern religion. Evidence? Look at Iran, Iraq, Pakisthan, Syria... How happy they are! :LOL: They are killing eachother, cutting the hands and legs of the small children, slaughtering masses of people, prosecuting women to death and than saying Islam is the Religion of Humanity in International Era :LOL: x 10 :)
  
  Ofcourse you may know, as a young Christian, I can not stand being Criticized by mostly non theologist fully bearded so called Immam's for what I beleive. And I can not stand, after hundred years of silence, can not handling a small "quote" (A quote it was not a critic!) of the Pope and killing Christians, bombing Churches!!
  
  If Christian world have reacted to each simple critic came from Muslims up to date there would be 9 world wars behind us!

  I do plan to read this book but also receive the impression that until I read and speak Arabic I won’t be considered informed on the real Korans message. Even so I have a feeling that there are two Islams, much like Christianity has an old testament and a new testament. And I have a feeling that most people in the Middle East are living in the Old Testament and threw away the New Testament.
  
  Though if you really want to start showing your support for democracy I ask that Muslims form a coalition that promotes democracy and pushes for the Freedom of Speech to be used against Muslim ideology. I want to see Madonna doing her thing on the Koran soon please! And I want to see no death threats after beyond one or two idiots that you denounce.

  Although I knew of Jihad and never questioned it before, I found it hard to accept that God would recourse to such violent measures to impose himself on people. What was more shocking was the cruelty of Allah in dealing with the unbelievers.

  It seemed that Allah was not just satisfied with killing the unbelievers. He enjoyed torturing them before killing them. Smiting people’s heads from above their necks and chopping their fingertips were very cruel acts. Would really God give such orders? And yet the worst is what he promised to do with the unbelievers in the other world:
  These two antagonists dispute with each other about their Lord: But those who deny (their Lord),- for them will be cut out a garment of Fire: over their heads will be poured out boiling water. With it will be scalded what is within their bodies, as well as (their) skins. In addition there will be maces of iron (to punish) them. Every time they wish to get away therefrom, from anguish, they will be forced back therein, and (it will be said), “Taste ye the Penalty of Burning!” 22:19-22
  How could the creator of this universe be so petty? These verses of the Quran shocked me. I was shocked to learn how Allah ordered killing people, how he would torture them eternally in such a horrible ways for no reason but disbelief. I was shocked to learn that Quran tells Muslims to kill the disbelievers wherever they find them (Q.2:191), to murder them and treat them harshly (Q.9:123), fight with them, (Q.8:65) humiliate them and impose on them a penalty tax if they are Christians or Jews, (Q.9:29) and slay them if they are Pagans (Q.9:5). I was shocked when I learned that Quran takes away the freedom of belief from all humanity and tells clearly that no other religion except Islam is accepted (Q.3:85). That Allah would relegate those who disbelieve in the Quran to Hell (Q.5:11) and calls them najis (filthy, untouchable, impure) (Q.9:28). I was shocked to learn that Allah orders the Muslims to fight the unbelievers until no other religion is left other than Islam (Q.2:193), or that he says that the non-believers will go to hell and will drink boiling water (Q.14:17), and asks the Muslims to slay or crucify or cut the hands and the feet of the unbelievers, that they be expelled from the land with disgrace. And as if this were not enough, that “they shall have a great punishment in world hereafter” (Q.5:34). I was shocked when I reads words such as “As for the disbelievers, for them garments of fire shall be cut and there shall be poured over their heads boiling water whereby whatever is in their bowls and skin shall be dissolved and they will be punished with hooked iron rods” (Q.22:9). How sadistic! But that was not all. The Quran also prohibits Muslims to befriend their own fathers or brothers if they are not believers (Q.9:23), (Q.3:28) and that actually Muhammad encouraged his followers to kill their own family in the battles of Badr and Uhud and asks the Muslims to “strive against the unbelievers with great endeavor (Q.25:52), and be stern with them because they belong to hell (Q.66:9). How can any sinsible person remain unmoved when he of she finds the Quran saying: “strike off the heads of the disbelievers” then after making a “wide slaughter among them, carefully tie up the remaining captives” (Q.47:4).
  The book of Allah says that women are inferior to men and their husbands have the right to beat them (Q.4:34), and that women will go to hell if they are disobedient to their husbands (Q.66:10). It says that men have an advantage over the women (Q.2:228). It not only denies women equal right to their inheritance (Q.4:11-12), it also regards them as imbeciles and decrees that their testimony alone is not admissible in the court (Q.2:282). This means that a woman who is raped cannot accuse her rapist unless she can produce a male witness, which of course is a joke. Rapist don't rape in the presence of witnesses. But the most shocking verse was where Allah allows Muslims to rape the women captured in wars even if they are married before being captured, (Q.4:24) (Q.4:3). I was shocked to learn that the holy prophet raped the prettiest women that he captured in his raids in the same day that he killed their husbands and loved ones. This is why anytime a Muslim army subdues another nation, they call them kafir and rape their women. Pakistani soldiers raped up to 250,000 Bangali women in 1971 and massacred 3,000,000 unarmed civilians when their religious leader decreed that Bangladeshis are un-Islamic. This is why the prison guards in Islamic regime of Iran rape the women and then kill them after calling them apostates and the enemies of Allah.

  i am writing to clear things up . first we have that guy that his muslim friends are saying bad things about mary the virgin . will did u know that there is a sura in the quran with name of ( mary ) witch is sura 19 . and did u know that prophet mohammed said that mary is on of the four ladies of all of the women on earth . thats right that is how much we muslims love mary . and i tell u that any one that says somthing wrong about mary isnt a muslim . and there is also a guy that talked about about voielnce and crulety against unbelivers . well the quran was talking about 14 cen ago when prophed mohammed was ( cursed , spited at , thrown rocks at , almost assassinated etc >>> ) by the unbelivers so thats why god orderd him to fight them first you have to know prophet mohammed so you can understand the quran . we respect all religions and the unbelivers that were menchend in the quran are the ones in mecca and the ones who fought prophet mohammed and not every one which is not a muslim . just think about it when the prophet was the only muslim did he pick up a sowrd and fought every one in his way alone . just think about it . muslims love all prophets and those who are menchened in the bible are also menchend in the quran .

  people who say that Islam is bloody are completely wrong.They can't get the true gist of this religion.They will be jusged and severly punished for this on doomsday if they don't repent.Read the Koran and understand it and you will understand that Islam is different and that you are on the wrong path.I am dead sure that you will die, face God and you will find yourself in a bad situation and you will be punished and you will dwell in hell forever.

  Mohammed had four wives. One he married when she was nine, one he took from his adopted son while his son was alive. Mohammed was a pedophile and an adulterer.
  
  Mohammed led battles of murder and theft against those who did not agree he was a "messanger of god." Murder and theft have not departed from Islam to this day. Look at what the Shiites and Sunnis were doing to each other in Iraq while trying to blame the Americans for all Iraq's troubles.
  
  There were contradictions found in Islam, other parts were similar to religious writings published in his day.
  
  Where did they get the idea pork is unholy? This was strictly superstition and not from God. Pork is high in protein and contains calories for substinence. Pork is a holy meat.
  
  The Koran advised to be at peace with those who are at peace with you, yet the Islamic called for Jihad too often. If I were to speak badly of Islam some might consider it grounds my execution and the confiscation of my home. If an Arab in Saudi Arabia converted to Christianity, in the past they would have beheaded him/her. More recently it was jail and expulsion from the K.S.A. The religion Islam blasmphemed God.
  
  There are people with Muslim names who prefer to be secular with hope of a better life.

  I've read all the comments on this page and I'm shocked by the level of ignorance displayed here; I wonder whether some of you are writing comments that are deliberately controversial, or whether you truly believe some of the things you have written.
  The central feature of this naivety is the belief that Islam is a violent religion, or that the majority of Muslims adhere to a violent interpretation of Islam. Both of these are false; Islam, like all religions, is open to interpretation. The "definition" of good Muslim behaviour is derived from a combination of direct and allegorical instruction from the Koran and the Sunnah (the example set by Muhammad). It is true that some Muslims have taken a rather violent interpretation from these sources, these would be regarded as "radicals" by the majority of Muslims (much in the same way as the so-called "Christian Fundamentalists" in West, connected to violent acts such as the bombing of abortion clinics). Unfortunately, it is only the radical Muslims that one sees in the media, and if one does not meet any Muslims in day-to-day life, it is only these radical Muslims that one sees.
  The majority of Muslims, living in Muslim countries or in the West, live conventional lives; they have regular jobs, they raise families, they mow their lawns and wash their cars at the weekend, and they regard religion as a personal matter. Of the four Muslims who I know personally; three drink alcohol, one smokes marijuana, all wear 'normal' clothes (excepting on specific family occasions), and only one prays five times daily (the same one who smokes weed). They all regard themselves as Muslims (though they regularly criticise themselves for being "bad muslims"), and they enjoy debating religious issues with me - the conversations are always fairly open, and no one has been truly offended yet.
  
  This tread began with a photograph of a man in Australia claiming that Islam is a religion of war and wearing a symbol reminiscent of the crusades, which I would have thought the majority of people to find laughable: he is labelling Islam a religion of war but he is also making reference to the militant history of Christianity (presumably his own religion).
  
  To all of you who believe that Islam is a religion of violence; imagine a person who has lived their entire life in a remote village, their only experience of Western culture being the one channel their television can receive: MTV, imagine that person trying to claim that all Western culture revolves around sex and violence. You would call him a fool, surely, and say that there is much more to Western culture than MTV (or indeed MTV2), yet it is in just the same position that you find yourself in when you watch the network news and read the occasional newspaper article.
  
  Remember: trying to understand the reasons for another's actions is not the same thing as attempting to condone that person's actions. It is through understanding the causes of something that we can hope to change or stop it.
  
  As an antidote to ignorance, I can recommend two (Western) authors, who write in a down-to-earth and informative style, these are: John L. Esposito and Fred Halliday. If you choose not to read further, that is fine, but remember, it is a choice you have made, you have chosen to let your view of the world rest on incomplete accounts and first impressions.

For the FBI, CIA, and NSA are violating the right to privacy of Muslims. But keep in mined that 12% to 15% of Muslims worldwide would like to kill Americans. That would put it about 650,000 people that would like to kill us Americans.

  In the year 1120 the Knights Hospitallers of the order of St.John sometimes known as the Knights of Malta were orderd to wear a white eight pointed cross on their robes.
  The Red or "Rosy" cross that this fellow crusader is wearing was granted to the Templar Knights by St.Bernard of Clairvaux in 1128.

  Right. well let me begin with what the word Islam means. Islam means submission (submitting your will to god), clearly many Muslims arent doing that because all you non-muslims can see all the negative things about Musilms. Well firstly anyone critising any religion should not look at its followers but the authentic scriptures, in this case the Quran and the Hadith. Many non-muslims and also some muslims are confused about one word in particular which they believe means holy war "Jihad", well let me clarify to you all that Jihad means to strive and struggle and even non-muslims do Jihad e.g when you are striving in work and struggling ot perform your best. If you translate this word into English referance (wikepidia) it does not mean holy war. There is not a single verse in the whole of the Quran or Hadith which mentions holy war because Islam is a religion of peace and Harmony, in the Quran it mentions to use force as a last resort not first. If you believe that all terrorists are muslims well you know that is lie. Why is the Britsh gov so afraid of Muslims when the IRA terrorist group have plotted more attakcs against Britain than any other terrorist group put together (for more info on this contact me on faizasaleem@hotmail.co.uk). When Hitler killed all the jews i believe this was a terrorist attack, was he a muslim? no, you guessed right. Nelson Mandela was titled a major terrorist when he stood up to inequality in South africa, yet today he is the president of South africa.   I think we should act upon this disease of islam reaching too civalised parts of the world, seriuosly ive looked into alot of research of the quaran and all it talks about is fighting for Allah and killing non believers, other than christianity,judaism,buddism, etc they explain about peace and respecting other religions.
  
  Now looking too prophets Mohammed invaded around 47 countries, stole from them and started slave trade in africa he also used racism to the black people of africa also mohammed had 4 wives including a 9 year old girl which i think is classed as pedephilia i see this as a barbaric figure which has no respect for human life.
  
  Now looking at the christian equivelant 'jesus' he healed people, always said respect your neihbours, told people that you dont need to pay the church lots of money its about your love to god and you can worship god were ever you are, jesus never harmed a person he aways gave good advice and fed the hungry so in this case i see jesus a highly respectable person in history which everyone can look up too.
  
  now in judaism they have there equivelant moses who is also in the christian bible, moses led jewish slaves to a promised land by God and also enstated the 10 comandments which told people basic morals which is also in our today laws.
  
  Buddism has there own prophet figure Bhuda who gave greta advice and ecouraged peace.

  For you Brits: Muslims, more specifically the more radical Islamic hate mongers, call us Westerners, Isralies, and all non-muslims (sons of) apes and pigs. Better those than filthy cockroaches and termites which these people are. What is usually done with cockroaches and termites? They're exterminated. It is the stated goal of Islamists to do just that to all non-Muslims. So, the table needs to be turned. First, start rounding up ALL those redical Islamists and publically execute a few of them. If that doesn't change attitudes, then go into the Muslim ghettos and torch them. Get them before they get you, because that is exactly their intentions, to kill you, and your children.   Religion is derived from a word which means to bind. Islam is binding: it enslaves men to Allah. In modern usage, religion implies benign pacifism & spirituality. Islam is mercenary & malignant.
  
  Do not take my word for this, do your own research. Read Surahs Al-Anfal, At-Taubah & Al-Fath. 8:1 tells us that the spoils of war belong to Moe. What has the "great religion of peace" have to do with war and accrual of spoils? 8:39 commands Muslims to fight pagans until only Allah is worshiped in the entire world. 9:29 commands Muslims to fight Jews, Christians & Zoroastrians until they are subjugated and make annual extortion payments. 8:12 commands Muslims to terrorize their victims. 33:26-27 shows us the consequences of casting terror. 8:67 sanctifies and mandates genocide. At the same time it reveals Moe's motivation: "the good of this world" ; spoils of war. Allah sets "great slaughter" as the price of admission to his paradise.
  
  I do not mis-translate Islamic scripture, nor do I mis-interpret it because I do neither. I rely on translations and the meaning of Allah's commands is clear on the face of the text. Nay more! The meaning of Moe's recitation is confirmed by his actions: the battles he ordered and engaged in. The Qur'an & hadith form a congruent, mutually reinforcing pattern.
  
  Lest there be any doubt, Ibn Kathir spent his entire adult life studying and teaching Islamic scripture & jurisprudence. His tafsir is regarded as authentic. It confirms the obvious meaning of the clear verses of the Qur'an.
  
  The Muslim Student Association at U.S.C. maintains a web site with three parallel translations of the Qur'an by Yusuf Ali, Pickthall & Shakir. It also provides abridgments of the four major hadith collections. My web site, Crusader's Armory, has links to those resources and .chm files containing the Noble Qur'an and hadith which Windows users can download, search and study. There is another file, EgregiousAyat.chm, which contains the most violent verses along with related tafsir topics and a substantial quote from Islamic law.
  
  Shari'ah also confirms the obvious meaning of the Qur'an. Umdat as-Salik or Reliance of the Traveller, which you can read as a scanned image at Scribid, reveals enough to make any sane man curse Islam. I will quote it here. Note that O9.8 quotes the ayat upon which it is based.

  The caliph (o25) makes war upon Jews, Christians, and Zoroastrians (N: provided he has first invited them to enter Islam in faith and practice, and if they will not, then invited them to enter the social order of Islam by paying the non-Muslim poll tax (jizya, def: o11.4) -which is the significance of their paying it, not the money itself-while remaining in their ancestral religions) (O: and the war continues) until they become Muslim or else pay the non-Muslim poll tax (O: in accordance with the word of Allah Most High,
  
  "Fight those who do not believe in Allah and the Last Day and who forbid not what Allah and His messenger have forbidden-who do not practice the religion of truth, being of those who have been given the Book-until they pay the poll tax out of hand and are humbled" (Koran 9.29),
  
  the time and place for which is before the final descent of Jesus (upon whom be peace). After his final coming, nothing but Islam will be accepted from them, for taking the poll tax is only effective until Jesus' descent (upon him and our Prophet be peace), which is the divinely revealed law of Muhammad. The coming of Jesus does not entail a separate divinely revealed law, for he will rule by the law of Muhammad. As for the Prophet's saying (Allah bless him and give him peace),
  
  "I am the last, there will be no prophet after me,"
  
  this does not contradict the final coming of Jesus (upon whom be peace), since he will not rule according to the Evangel, but as a follower of our Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) ).
