  • As much as I'd love to see the iPhone unlocked, I'll believe it when I see it. Until then, I'm not linking to sites like iphoneunlocking.com. I suspect many if not all of them are just doing it to build a domain with high pagerank to be exploited later.
  • Bricked usually is termed as 'useless', only good for a paper weight or a doorstop, ie. as good as a brick.

Having a multi-touch screen ipod + wifi device with a near-decent browser that people are developing iphone specific apps on... = not exactly useless.
  • other data phones that have been unlocked have needed the extra step of redirecting data services to the new provider
this is obviously an extra step and annoyance, but if possible will yield the same services.
the current 'activating' hack also allows iTunes to work as usual, so it is definitely worth the effort.
  • unlock this bad boy to work with voip when it's in wifi range & now you've got a phone.
  • At&t outbidding to keep this as only our phone. Maybe when the contract is up you will get the method but until then keep searching because it's not coming
  • iphonejtag with its hardware/software is the best bet on unlocking your phone if you know what your doing otherwise iphonesimfree software hack will probably work fine just have to find someone whose willing to help you though the steps.
  • There is a pretty good video explaining the iPhone hack that you can look at by searching on a new online video network called Webcastr. The link is www webcastr.com. Just search iPhone when you get there. (Lots of other good stuff, too.)
