  • Okay, let's see a full "scientific" comparative study. Your chin looks about like mine after a single, dual, or triple-action disposable. Arguably the single blade mades the closest shave, so I don't get "it" when it comes to the purported advantages of the next-hypde Mach XVII.

Then again, this is really the most though I've ever put into it. Guess I'll await for the next report in your investigative series.
  • The unshaven picture kind of looks like a hairy asscrack.
  • Actually, now that I think about it, the first one looks like a shaved asscrack, too.
  • I am glad you shaved. How's your sun-burning?
  • I hate the Quattro. I'll stick with my Mach III. I find that the Quattro gets gunked up with hair too easily if your facial hair is coarse. Then, it's impossible to clean. The Mach III is easy to clean and more than adequate.
  • everysingle person who left a message on this web site, apart from me, is a complete fucking sad twat.
  • Chris, you are almost correct, except you too are a complete fucking sad twat.
  • I dont know why everyones saying Mach 3 is the best, I use a Mach 3, and it does not give me a close shave. There are always small patches tiny stubble lurking around even after 3 passes (2 with the grain and once against the grain)
  • after trying your new razor,( the Quattro) i have to say that my cheap gillette throw away is a better shave. i should know; i have been shaving for 45 years. was in Walmart the other Saturday and someone offered me a free one and i said NO. . try again
  • I think the quattro pro razor is like shaving with a cheese grader. I find that the maximum number of blades a razor can have is about 3. In addition, the blades aren't very sharp.
  • single blade safety razor is with a glycerin based lather is the best shave around. there's a reason your grandfather never switched!
  • i have three things to say 1st i agree that the schick quttro is a crap razor and that mach 3 is grate. 2nd the picture looks like an arse crack lol and 3rd chris ur a sad nob.

    k.o.s
  • I have been using the Mach III Turbo for many years. I remember being so extremely happy with it after trying single-blade and electric shavers. I would like to try the Fusion though. I don't have a coarse beard and can get many, many shaves with these types of razors. I also use Edge as my default cream, although when I am in the shower, the razor is so great, I can just use whatever soap I am using, usually an olive oil based soap. Also, Chris, you are very very sad. I am sorry for you. The rest of us, however, apparently have such amazing lives that we have the time to post about razors.
  • i know, i'm a bit of a pretentious git, but nothing is quite as satisfying as going through the ritual of using a cut-throat... granted, it isn't an every morning thing, but, with a bit of skill and some time, its hard to get a closer shave, and it really gives you a little high...

i find, as several people have indicated, the more blades, the more it gunks up, and the schick seems pretty bad in this regard. I'm a fan of the old gillette sensor excel (a twin blade)... and have a mach3 i use too

whats with these new ones that have a battery and vibrate? surely that has to make you cut yourself more?
  • OK guys- I'm an Italian woman who probably has more thick hair on her legs than you could ever imagine having on your faces. I've used the Mach 3 and it did an OK job- just OK. The Quattro is by far the best razor I've used...doesn't leave my skin irritated, doesn't cut me and the blades stay sharper than others. I used to use a Mach 3 blade 3 times and it goes in the trash...I can get about 7 or 8 shaves out of a Quattro blade. I haven't used a womans razor in a very long time...they just don't "cut" it. I hate the way our society thinks...just cuz I'm a woman and don't have a beard to shave must mean I don't need THAT good of a razor....pfffftt....
  • It always gets clogged! And what is it when those stupid thin wires?! The Quattro is crap. I'm going back to Mach 3.
  • I've been shaving my head for about 10 years now.

I recently got a job where I have to shave every day because it is a class 9 clean room environment. The schick quattro titanium lasts far longer than any other razor I've ever used. And with the protector wires I have to worry less about getting cuts.

Mabye if you shaved every day the razor wouldn't gunk up....try washing your face well b4 shaving too.
  • I just purchased the Quattro Titanium Trimmer.

This razor makes me feel like a man. I don't know if the shave is all that good, to be honest, because i don't really grow a lot of facial hair. But owning a razor that is so bulky and dangerous looking makes me feel as brusque and manly as I imagine a 5 o'clock shadow might.

The trimmer works miracles -- I got rid of my pubes in under 5 minutes! It worked so fast and powerfully, I couldn't help but make car noises while I shaved. You should have heard the brakes squeal when I almost went into the median! (You know where I'm talking about...)

One of the best features is that this razor looks so frighteningly powerful, it actually causes your hair to stand on end, allowing for a much closer shave.

The only drawback to this razor is that it does not automatically dispense shaving cream and aftershave, does not have a laser-sight or a built-in clock radio. Maybe Schiick will get it together next time.

All in all, I give this razor 5 blades up.
  • Ron - that was hysterical. Chris - you're pathetic. Now that I have that out of the way....

I prefer the Mach 3 Power to the Quattro or Fusion (manual or power). Having just tried the Quattro Titanium Trimmer, I appreciate the features and manliness enhancements highlighted by Ron but ultimately the Quattro's razor isn't as effective as a Mach 3 Power. Paradoxically, the Schick Quattro Power is LESS effective than the Quattro manual. Whatever vibratory dance Schick adds to the Quattro pales in comparison to Gilette's Powered razors.

I use the name Quattro, BTW, in regards to the car (Audi), not shaver.
  • Wow... I must say that there are some intersting people in the cyber world......
Before any of you can complain, try being a black man with razor bumps that are a pain in the a**. I use the fusion and i like that it gets a close shave but to avoid the five o'clock shadow look at noon I go against the grain. Then razor bumps come out with a vengence. I have tryed to switch razors but had no luck. The Quatro is the worst by the way. I have tryed difillitories and they suck. To rid razor bumps i have spent $$$$$ on creams which my skin gets immune too. looked into electrolisis, but dont have $6,000.00 up front for results that arent promising....
    any suggestions?
  • waxing?

sorry isaac, but you're in a tought boat.
  • The fewer blades the better. Wash your face with something that has no fats/oils or leaves residue before you shave. Clear gels (something that doesn't foam) are best like a King of Shaves shave gel. You can see where you are trimming. After you wash your face and apply the gel, let it sit for a few minutes first, the longer you can wait the better. The softer the beard becomes the easier it is to cut, especially the graying beards which are tough as fishing line. Don't stretch or tighten your skin, let the razor do the work. When you stretch the skin you will get ingrown whiskers (the red bumps that appear after you shave). Rinse with warm water (not cold) and apply an after shave balm that does not contain alcohol. What the hell do I know? I'm a dermatoligist.
  • for razor bumps use a regular Buff Puff, available at drugstores. this will ex foliate and pull curled hair from the skin to allow them to be shaved after some time you will no longer get shave bumps.
  • Hi,
To whom so ever may concern i just wanted samples for my self to test the product and make sure that it works good with my skin . I do not take risk with the skin thats why i am asking . Thanks .

    Avni.
  • I hate these blades! I used to use Gillette Mach 3's and I'm going back to them. These Quatro blades clog up really badly and no amount of water and banging against the sink will clear them. Once clogged they become useless. The first shave is great but the blade life SUCKS. Considering how expensive blades are.. I feel really ripped off. And I don't notice a huge difference between the 4 blades or 3.

P.S. Remember to dry off your disposable blades after shaving. Greatly increases life span.
  • to be honest i just tryed both razors and to be honest the mach 3 turbo cut me and shick quattro tiatinum is really good dint make even 1 cut dint even burn when i applied after shave but with mach 3 burned alot and same results on them
