There are plenty of alternatives to Pingomatic. I recently announced another alternative to Pingomatic called PINGQueue. It offers a similar service, with the ability to look at your ping history and responses from services to your ping.

According to the PINGQueue site:
<blockquote>PINGQueue.com is no longer accepting pings for new blogs. Current users can continue to use PQ (assuming they haven't been tagged as spam), but new users/blogs will have use other ping relay services for now.
