There is tutorial for fast and simple retouch in photoshop. http://www.fotografia.kopernet.org/retusz.html there is no English version, but pictures are clear and tools names are in English.

My opinion is that the retouching is obvious.
I needs to be more subtle and not really noticeable.

The retouched photo looks alright, just a lil obvious that it's been retouched. Try adding a bit of noise to the retouched area so it isn't so soft looking

I think the best photo retouching is where you can't notice that it's been retouched. Where it leaves you thinking, "Whoa - how did they take that?"

Anyway - that's my 2 cents. Great job on the eyes tho.
